Voting has just begun for this year’s Cult TV Awards, in what is now our 17th year of presenting our appreciation of the best in fictional television to the talent behind the shows that we make time for more than others. As an incentive to make your votes, we have three copies of the brand new version of A BOUQUET OF BARBED WIRE (release date 20 September 2010) available as an incentive to get your 'thinking caps' on.

The Awards voting follows the online nominations stage, where we compiled the top five nominations in each category from what was suggested by those who let us know their views - the voting is where things REALLY get fun!

For those of you new to this, there are NO premium rate phone lines to call, or even stamps to buy to put your votes on record! With the process being online, and with each form being individually verified to ensure that block votes are discounted, this is the best system going to ensure that we genuinely take the pulse of the UK’s Cult TV appreciators.

As a ‘Thank You’ for taking part, all those who nominated were entered into a draw for The Avengers Series 4 7-DVD Set that will bringhas brought smiles to the trio who have been lucky enough to win one. The winners were David Mills of Gillingham, George Spedding of Cheshire, and Dan Mcbrearty of North London.

So, to the voting prize: A Bouquet of Barbed Wire stars TREVOR EVE (Waking the Dead, Shoestring), HERMIONE NORRIS (Spooks, Kingdom), IMOGEN POOTS (“Miss Austen Regrets”, “28 Weeks Later”), TOM RILEY (“St Trinians 2”, Lost In Austen), JEMIMA ROOPER (Lost In Austen, Hex) and MARL LEWIS JONES (“The Passion”, The Commander).

This provoking rework of the 1970s drama was filmed against the backdrop of London and was written by acclaimed writer Guy Andrews (Lost in Austen, Prime Suspect), directed by Ashley Pearce (Agatha Christie’s Poirot, The Commander, Afterlife) and produced by Mammoth Screen.

Peter Manson, his teenage daughter Prue and wife Cassie are in the midst of a family crisis over Prue’s shock affair with her teacher and resulting pregnancy when architect Peter employs rising star, Sarah Francis. Fearing that he is losing his beloved daughter and with his marriage to Cassie at breaking point, Peter turns to Sarah for affection. With his increasingly erratic behaviour, it is only a matter of time before all is revealed...

Executive Producer for Mammoth Screen Damien Timmer says: “The original TV version of A Bouquet of Barbed Wire was one of the most controversial dramas of its era, busting taboos which still have the power to shock decades later.”

The Voting Form does take a little time to fill in - 13 of the Awards are part of our HALL OF FAME – an ever-expanding pantheon of the most deserving from the last 60 years of television.  Simply choose from the drop-down lists in each of the categories.
